about
I wrote this song with Jeremy Lister after an experience I had when a child stayed at my house for two weeks while her Mom recovered from Covid-19. The video (clink profile link) was assembled when friends and family sent in photos of those they wished they could see but cannot because of the quarantine. We have all been given the gift of remembering how important family can be. The song was recorded and mixed at Club Roar in Nashville I sang lead, played drums & bass, while Jeremy played piano, guitar, and added harmony vocals. BANDCAMP proceeds go to MUSICARES.ORG, which has done so very much for the mental & physical health of musicians all around the world. Thanks for helping us to stay on the creative path. Music can truly heal. Much love to all of you & your families. Tim E. in Tennessee
lyrics
WHEN I SEE YOU AGAIN
words & music by T. Easton/J. Lister
When I see you again
I’m going to hold you like
my entire life depended on it
When I see you again
I’m going to tell you everything
like if the universe depended on it
Last night, I drove across town
The doors were locked and the streets were quiet
I was looking for a path but who could I ask
It seemed like everyone I saw was wearing a mask
When I see you again
I’m going to hold you like
My entire life depended on it
Oh oh oh oh when I see you again
oh oh oh oh when I see you again
oh oh oh oh when I see you again
There was a time that my heart
took you for granted
now that we are forced to be apart
feels like the whole world is stranded
Through the night, through the fever
this time away has made me a true believer
in a love that can last
I promise you the hard times will pass

There's a similarity in song writing between Richard Thompson and Hugh Cornwell which maybe isn't surprising as they went to the same school at the same time, although Thompson is older.
Due to Thompson's association with John French of Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band I searched for his work on the Bandcamp app. French, Thompson and Cornwell all have albums on the app which I'm very pleased about. Only Thompson has released contemporary albums, much to his credit.

Excellent. You sound so different. A bit Elvis Costello and Elliot Smith in there. An urban album. Great clean sound. Love Holidays. More, please? Roy Greer
